Dear Wilder School District Families,
We just wanted to let you know that there has been a confirmed case of chickenpox (varicella) within the district. The health and safety of our students and staff are our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping prevent the spread of illness. Chickenpox is a contagious illness. It spreads easily through coughing, sneezing, or contact with the fluid from blisters. Symptoms may include:
An itchy, blister-like rash that often starts on the chest, back, and face, then spreads
Fever
Tiredness or fatigue
Loss of appetite
Headache
If your child develops a rash or any of these symptoms, please keep them home from school and contact your healthcare provider for guidance. Children should remain at home until all blisters have scabbed over and they are no longer contagious.
Thank you for your support in keeping our school community safe and healthy. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your healthcare provider.
